School holidayze clubs: West Midlands edition

With half-term on the horizon, we asked the dayze community for their go-to school holidayze club recommendations. Here’s a roundup of those our Midlands community have tried and loved. Any we’ve missed? Let us know and we’ll keep this page updated with your latest and greatest recommendations.

Our dayze school holiday club tips

Lunchboxes: One thing nobody ever told us at first is that many of the school holiday clubs need you to pack lunchboxes for the kids. Check with the club and be inspired by our lunchbox hacks here.

Co-ordinate: It’s always easier for your kids (and you) if you co-ordinate with their friend’s parents and book them all into the same holiday club.

Age: Many clubs only accept bookings for kids aged 5 and over. But it may be worth checking if 4-year-olds in reception can go.

Spare clothes: From accidents to mud-fests, it’s worth packing a spare set of clothes.

Snacks: Never… and we mean, never, turn up at pick up without a snack! The kids tend to be exhausted and hangry!

A LOT of the dayze community in Warwickshire mentioned this company for school holiday clubs. Apparently they run birthday parties.

For ages: 4 - 11.

dayze loves: The mix of activities on offer from Arts & Crafts and STEAM to dance, sports, and treasure hunts.
Good to know: The school holiday clubs get booked up QUICK!

Some of the dayze gang, including George, has tried this school holiday club that’s very well run and offers plenty of sports and activities at various locations across the Midlands.

For ages: 4-11.

Good to know: Under 5’s can only do a maximum of 4 hours. This almost caught us out when booking!

Sports 4 All was established by ex-professional footballer Chuck Eribenne and has a team of qualified instructors for football, basketball, street dance, cricket, martial arts, ballet, Gymnastics, rugby, bokwa, and more!

For ages: 4-11.

dayze loves: Parents in Warwickshire loved that the clubs are smaller in size and a mix of sports, crafts and languages, too!

Good to know: The club sizes are not huge, so make sure you book quickly.

A few dayze parents recommended this as a great place for school holiday club events and family activities. The location is incredible and the cakes aren’t bad either!

For ages: Depends on the activity.

dayze loves: There is a mix of indoor and outdoor events and clubs that will spark the imagination of kids.

Good to know: Grownups have to accompany kids to some events, so just check before booking.

Everyone Active Leisure Centres, across the Midlands.

The school holiday camps include both full and half-day activities from sports to arts and crafts, all run by qualified instructors.

For ages: 4-14.

dayze loves: Plenty of activities to keep the kids occupied and having fun.

Good to know: Group sizes can be bigger than other clubs, and booking can take a while unless you pop by to your local center.

Onside Coaching, Warwickshire

The team of qualified coaches run football, dance and active kids programmes at various locations across Warwickshire.

For ages: 5-11.

dayze loves: The organisation is spot on and the coaches make the sessions fun for the kids.

Good to know: Some of the venues are outside whatever the weather, so make sure the kids have the right kit.

Based at the University campus, the team runs all-day sessions that cover environmental and nature-related activities as well as skateboarding, juggling and science lessons.

For ages: 5-12.

dayze loves: The facilities are brilliant and the kids seem to love it.

Good to know: This gets booked up fast, so be quick!

This sports and activity club takes place in venues across the UK, including locations across Birmingham. The team has recently launched a 3-4 years club in selected locations. See the website for more.

For ages: 5-14.

dayze loves: Parents love the mix of activities and the early bird booking offer price.

Good to know: Larger groups than some of the smaller clubs.

Stagecoach across the UK

dayze co-founder Lizzie is a big fan of the Saturday Stagecoach classes for her 6-year-old daughter. So, when other dayze parents mentioned the school holiday clubs, we knew we had to include it in our round-up.

For ages: 4-18.

dayze loves: Kids who have no acting, dancing or performing experience are welcome and can try their hand at new skills and activities.

Good to know: Check your nearest Stagecoach schools to see the dates and offering in your area.

One of the dayze community suggested this local holiday club for all budding musicians!

For ages: 4-11.

dayze loves: Every day the kids take part in different instrumental sessions workshops that ends in a grand concert!

Good to know: The normal day sessions run 9:30am-4pm, but extended hours are available.

Founder Libby Esler believes that everyone has a creative inner child. She is also magical with kids. They LOVE her and we’ve seen firsthand how she makes every session interesting and fun!

For ages: 5-11.

dayze loves: The school holiday clubs are usually a 3-day workshop event that covers a variety of art and media.

Good to know: The sessions are shorter than some other clubs, but worth it!
