The Best Buy & Sell Sites For Your Kid’s Clothes, Toys, and Gifts

Thinking about clearing out the kids’ wardrobes and toy cupboards and making yourself some cash in the process. Maybe there are a few unwanted gifts that you may want to shift (ssssh, your secret’s safe with us!).

Around 183 million children's garments go to landfill every year in the UK, so by using resale sites, you’re also doing your bit for the planet. Nice one!

Everything we recommend is tried, tested and loved by team dayze and the dayze community. Here are our go-to’s for sites to sell and buy your kid’s clothes, toys and gifts. Know of any others? Let us know.

Not just for your kid’s stuff, this site is bursting with thousands of brands for your wardrobe and home.

Why we love it: It’s an easy-to-use app, buyers are protected, and the filter by brand, size, and category just WORKS!

Costs: Buyers pay a small buyers protection fee, but the big win is that Vinted doesn't charge sellers any commissions!

Top tips: Make an offer! A fellow parent told us to make offers (not too cheeky) and quite often they’re accepted. Also, it’s a great place to sell lots of similar items, just “Bundle” them together in category and age bracket and sell in bulk.

We’ve been fans of this UK marketplace for all things maternity, baby and kids since day one!

Why we love it: As well as plenty of brilliant items, the benefits programme “Octoplus” gives members access to exclusive discounts and services such as babysitting and homemade frozen meals to their door.

Costs: It’s free to join and to list, and there are no added fees for buyers. When selling your goods, there is a payment processing fee and 10% of each sale goes to The Octopus Club.

Top tips: Check out the Instagram account for interviews, advice, and Insta lives with a whole range of parenting experts.

Calling all the cool kids, this is the place for designer clobber. Perfect for special gifts and events, Kidswear Collective is an online store offering pre-loved and past-season designer children’s fashion.

Why we love it: Consider it the preloved Net-a-Porter for kids with brands like Stella McCartney Kids, Chloé, Burberry and Gucci. Everything on the website is sourced, curated and authenticated by an exclusive industry network, so total peace of mind for buyers.

Costs: You can earn up to 60% of the resale price and 2.5.% of all proceeds go to the NSPCC. But it’s not a quick process. If you’re interested in selling, you need to send a minimum of ten pre-owned or past-season designer items that will then be checked and approved.

Top tips: Until 3rd January 2023, there is a Kidswear Collective pop-up store at Bicester Village. Keep an eye on their socials for more pop-up locations.

If Mini Boden is one of your top searches on Vinted, then check out this small independent biz founded by mum-of-three, Liz Smith where you can buy items from the iconic British brand at a fraction of the price (and sell them, too!).

Why we love it: This is a small independent business that’s making a big splash! It’s easy to use and has the best edit of Mini Boden items around.

Costs: Just postage when buying. Liz is also keen to buy all the Mini Boden/Johnnie B/Baby Boden items your kids might have outgrown and are ready to pass on. Contact her for more information, but make sure the items are in good condition.

Top tips: Liz also runs regular market nights via the brand’s Facebook page.

Browse, buy and sell a carefully curated edit of pre-loved clothing and sell all of your unwanted kids’ items. The app also provides real-time alerts to your phone.

Why we love it: Good condition is guaranteed and the founder is an ex-fashion buyer, so the collection is fab.

Costs: Kids O'Clock takes 30% from each sale made on the website.

Top tips: Free shipping on Golden items online. Short on time? Join the ‘Golden Service’, where the team will do all the hard work for you. They will photograph, upload and respond to buyers’ questions on your behalf and you will receive 60% of the sale straight into your bank account. The drop-off service is where you can donate and recycle clothing by dropping them off at selected stores.
