Sunny dayze! The best suncream for kids

Putting suncream on a child is like trying to wrestle a baby alligator. We know first-hand that trying to get factor 50 on before a school or nursery run is guaranteed to take triple the expected time and involve a LOT of “stand still,” “nearly done,” and bribery!

We did a call-out on our Insta stories recently for suncream brands that work, are easy to apply, and don’t cost a bizmillion pounds! So, here’s the roundup. Thanks so much for all your suggestions.

Suncream for kids tried, tested, and loved by the dayze community

No more sticky suncream hands thanks to this super smart suncream applicator! Solar Buddies is so easy to use and fun that the kids will want to put their own suncream on! This was one of the most recommended suncream brands when we did our call-out to the dayze community.

We were happy to see this brand make the list of top recommendations from dayze parents, as we have tried this sun spray ourselves and can vouch for how good it is. George’s daughter has very sensitive skin and this product worked a treat, smells lovely, and comes as eco-friendly refills. Win-win!

A few of the dayze gang recommended this brand as it’s non-toxic and marine-life friendly. It also isn’t too heavy, is easy to apply, and a great choice for ultra-sensitive skin types.

Altruist Sunscreen

The parent that recommended this brand says that both the spray and the cream are excellent. This 5-star rated non-fragranced product is good value when compared to more well-known brands.

dayze parents LOVE the fact that this suncream comes with a twist top and no cap, meaning less fuss and spillage in your beach bag! It’s designed for sensitive skin and doesn’t immediately stain kids clothes, which is always a bonus.

While this is one of the more expensive brands, it is also highly recommended. Specially formulated for sensitive skin and water resistant, the product is easy to apply and fragrance-free.

Forget the kids, we want this fab product for ourselves! One of the dayze gang recommended this as it’s the first eco-sunscreen for teens and tweens, designed to protect young and sensitive faces against sun damage, without blocking pores and causing blemishes.

At less than a fiver, this Aldi spray is kind to budgets as it is on skin. A number of dayze parents recommended this brand for kids as its easy to apply and five-star rated.

Good value, a fine aerosol spray that the kids don’t flinch at too much and a lovely coconut smell, this is a good go-to for the summer months. It’s also water resistant and less than a fiver, too!

  • Remove suncream stains on clothes: Pop the items in the sunshine for a good for hours.

  • Makeup brush to apply suncream: A load of the dayze gang sent us this hack! We’ve tried it and it works, especially good for when you’re on the beach and avoid sandy hands!

  • Pop your suncream in the fridge: On super hot days and this will keep the kids cool, but it may also make them yelp and squirm even more!

  • UV/sunburn detection stickers: Pop stickers like these SunnyPatch from Natural Patch on your kids and reapply the suncream once the sticker changes colour.
