The countdown to the 6-week summer school holidayze is on. I asked the dayze community for their recommendations on the best drop-off school summer holidays clubs in Warwickshire and the West Midlands and they delivered! I’ve also included recommendations on summer events and clubs for SEND children as well as links to the free Holiday Activities and Food provision programme (HAF) as more and more families quality for support this year.

  • FULL + HALF DAYZE CLUBS

    - Ackers Adventure in Birmingham for 8-16 years. From 22 July - 30 August 09:00-16:30. Expect: cool adventures guided by professionals including skiing, climbing, canoeing, archery, zip wire and more!

    - Active Aspire, various locations across the West Midlands for 4-14 years (4-y-o only half days). From 22 July - 23 August, 08:00-16:00. Expect: A mix of sports for all ages + abilities.

    - Airhop Rush Birmingham for 5-11 years. From 22 July until the end of August 09:00-16:00 (wrap around options available). Expect: Trampolining, arts and crafts, films and board games.

    - Bounce and Beat Summer Holiday Club in Balsall Common for 5-11 years. From 22 July - 30 August 09:30-15:30 Expect: Using the airtrack to learn tricks and tumbles!

    - Clubzone coaching academy, locations across Birmingham + Warwickshire (HAF approved) for 11-15 years. Various dates across the summer. Morning or afternoon sessions available. Expect: A young leader qualification upon a 4-day course completion to help them to get paid coaching work in the future.

    - Cool sportz at Warwick, Henley + Emscote Tennis Club for 4-16 years (4 years can do half day only), 08:30 – 15:30. Expect: tennis and other fun activities.

    - Embody Dance clubs in Nuneaton (HAF approved) for 8-15 years. Clubs running 13-16 August, 27-30 August 10:00-14:00. Expect: dance and crafts.

    - Everyone Active various locations across Warwickshire + The West Midlands for 4+ years. Times and events differ across the locations but typically involve sports.

    - Fiery Feet dance studio summer programmein Leamington Spa for 5-12 years. From 29 July - 16 August, 09:00-15:30. Ten action packed days of fun at Fiery Feet with everything from street dance to circus skills and cheerleading to musical theatre!

    - Fun Fest Clubs, locations across Birmingham, Solihull + West Midlands for 3+ years, From 22 July - 23 August. Expect: Activities like Master Chef, Archery, Animal Encounters, Laser Quest, Go-Karting, Fashion Design, Beauty School and more!

    - Go 4 Goals with Kingsley School, Leamington Spa for 5-13 years (4yo can attend half days). 09:00-15:30 (early drop-off 08:30 available upon request). 22-25 July, 29 July - 1 August, 5-8 + 12-15 August.

    - Inspire2Coach summer tennis camps across Coventry, Alcester and Rugby for 5-12 years. Expect tennis and fun from 08:30-16:30.

    - J.C Caddon, football camps in Leamington Spafor 5+ years. Tues - Fri 23 - 26 July, 30 July - 2 Aug, 6-8 August, 28-30 August, 09:00-15:00. Expect a mix of football, cricket and movies.

    -Junior Touch Rugby Camp at Old Leamingtonians Rugby Football Club, Leamington Spa for 5-15 years.On 22-23 July from 09:00 - 15:30 with guest England Touch Rugby players!

    - Just Camps in Warwick + Worcester, for4-12 years (4 year olds half days only). From 22 July – 30 August 09:00-15:00. Expect sports and fun for all ages and abilities.

    - Kids Summer Squad, netball sessions at Kenilworth School for 5-12 years. Six sessions across the summer holidays 09:00-15:00. Expect: Netball practise and games.

    - KSD holiday clubs in Nuneaton for 4+ years. (HAF approved). From 29 July - 23 August, 09:00-16:00. Expect: Dance, gymnastic and magic weeks.

    - LA Holiday Camps, Coventry for 4-11 years. From 22 July – 23 August 07:30-17:30.

    - Leamington Athletics Academy Summer Camp for 5-12 years. From 22-24 July, 5-7 August, 27-29 August, 09:30-15:30. Expect athletics activities outdoors.

    - Leamington Brakes Football Camp for 5-12 years. From 1-24 August (Tues-Thurs). 1 - 24 August, 08:30-15:30. Expect: Football practice and matches.

    - Leamington Spa Tennis + Squash Club for 5-14 years. From 19 July - 30 August. Expect: Tennis in the morning and squash in the afternoon.

    - Leamington and Warwick Gymnastics Club (HAF approved) for 4-12 years (4 year-olds half days only). From 2 July – 30 August, 09:00-16:30. Expect: Gymnastics practice.

    - OnSide Coaching in locations across Warwick, Kenilworth, and Stratford-Upon-Avon for 5-11 years. From 22 July, 09:30-15:30 (wrap-around care options available). Expect: Football, dance and active kids camps.

    - Razzamataz Dance Summer School in Coventry for 6-18 years. From 22-26 July, 10:00-16:00. Expect: Various dance sessions and styles.

    -SS Coaching, football holiday camp. at Racing Club Warwick for 5-12 years. Mon-Thursdays, 22 July – 22 August , 09:00-15:00. Expect football and fun.

    - Team Supersports in locations across Coventry, Solihull, Rugby, and Malvern for 5-16 years. From 15 July - 23 August, 08:00 - 17:00. Expect: Rugby, cricket, football, gymnastics, netball, hockey, dance and tennis

    - Warwickshire Cricket Foundation summer cricket camps in Birmingham and Stratford-Upon-Avon for 7-14 years. From 22 July – 30 August,  10:00-15:00. Expect cricket skills, games and activities.

    SHORT SESSIONS ONLY

    - Leamington Boat Centre Kids Summer Paddle Club. For 8-14 years. The club runs on Friday afternoons by trained instructors (parents can watch from the river bank!) from 26 July - 30 August 14:00-15:30, each session is 1.5 hours long.

    - Motionhouse summer classes in Leamington Spa for 6-18 years. Different themed classes. and workshops across July and August, including: Climbing, dancing, flips and tricks and more.

    - Funstar holiday camps in Rugby (HAF approved) for 5-11 years. From 22 July – 12 August 08:45 - 15:30. Expect Wonka themed workshops and sports.

    - GoGo Makers (HAF approved) at various locations across Leamington Spa, Kenilworth, Warwick, Stratford-Upon-Avon and Coventry for 4-12 years. Various dates across July and August, 08:00-17:30.     - St. Anthony's Catholic School Summer Club in Leamington Spa for 5-11 years, 09:00-15:00. Great value club with a wide range of activities.

    - Warwick School + Kingsley Schoolfor 5-12 years. From 15 July – 30 August 09:00-15:00 (wrap-around care available). Expect: A mix of activities and sports.

    - Warwick University holiday club for 5-12 years. From 22 July - 30 August, 08:30-17:30. Expect a mix of activities and sports for all abilities.

    - Ultimate Activity at King Edwards VI High School in Birmingham for 4+ years. From 15 July – 16 August, 08:30-18:00. Expect: A mix of activities and sports.

  • FULL + HALF DAYZE

    - Compton Verney 4-day animation camp for 8-11 years in Warwick. From 19-24 August, 09:30-16:00. Expect: Learn how to film and edit films with a screening to parents and carers at the end of the week.

    - Compton Verney 4-day big art holiday camp for 8-11 years in Warwick. From 13-16 August, 09:30-16:00. Expect: Kids will create an exhibition inspired by contemporary artists at the end of the four days.

    - Playbox theatre, summer holidays clubs, Warwick for 3-14+ years. Full and half day courses over July and August. Expect: Theatre-led themed sessions, including Alice in Wonderland, Roald Dahl, High Jinks and more.

    - RSC Stratford-Upon-Avon new summer school for 8-14 years. From 12-23 August, 10:00-16:00. Expect: Over the sessions, the kids will create and rehearse a version of 'As You Like It'.

    - Stagecoach holiday workshops in Warwick, Kenilworth, and Leamington Spa for 6-18 years (HAF approved). Various dates across August from 08:00-17:00. Expect: Theatre, dance, singing and fun!

    - Stratford Youth Company summer workshops for 5+ years. From 5-25 July, 10:00-15:30. Expect: A range of workshops from acting to costume and make up and more!

    - Strings Club, music, sports and crafts summer sessions in Birmingham and Leamington Spa for 4-11 years. From 29 July - 30 August, 08:00-17:30. Expect: Music club in the morning, sports and crafts in the afternoon. Each camp ends with a performance.

    SHORTER SESSIONS ONLY

    -ArtLab Summer Camp at Milverton Primary School Leamington Spa for 4-11 years (HAF approved). Tues, Weds + Thurs from 23 July - 21 August, 10:00-14:00. Expect: Lots of crafts and art activities, with special focus on upcycling and recycling.

  • FULL + HALF DAYS

    - Black Country Living Museum, Young Archeologists' and curators' club for 8-15 years. Running Wednesdays 31 July, 7, 14, 21, 30 August, 12:30-15:00. Expect: An expert-led session discovering more about these two interesting topics and fun hands-on activities.

    - Junior Einstein Science Club Safari sessions for 5-11 years at locations at West Midlands Safari Park, Solihull, Harborne, Sutton Coldfield and Bournville over July – August. Expect: hands-on fun and learning from science experts!

  • SHORTER SESSIONS ONLY for children with Special Educational Needs or Disability. All listed require an accompanying adult.

    - Bedworth Disabled Swimming Club in Coventry is running various sessions across the summer holidays for all ages.

    - Embody Dance Tiger Feet SEND Dance Classes in Nuneaton for 4-9+ years on Monday evenings from 17:30 for 30+ minutes are inclusive of all dancers with SEND Tiger Feet Classes are available from Pre-School to teens.

    - iLeap in various locations across Warwick and Stratford-Upon-Avon for all ages, including swimming, holiday clubs and more.

    - Inclusive Sports Academy in Birmingham (HAF approved) for children with SEND of all ages.

    - Ladybug Lodge in Coventry, SEND dance sessions at The Albany theatre for all ages. TBC summer programme.

    - Leamington Dolphins SEND swimming club at Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre, all year round for children and young adults with any form of disability, to come along with their siblings and parents, and learn to swim in a safe and friendly environment. The Club meets from 5.30 - 6.25pm on Sunday evenings (during term time). TBC summer schedule.

    - Messy Beanz sensory stay and play in Leamington Spa for 6 months to 15 years with special needs and disabilities who enjoy messy and sensory play. Every Saturday throughout the year, all ages welcome

    - Rugby Autism Network posts local events and activities happening in the area of the summer.

  • You may or may not know, that an increasing number of families across the UK are entitled to free Holiday Activities and Food during the school summer holidays.

    The HAF programme is primarily for children aged 5 to 16 (and can include 4-year-olds already in reception year) who are eligible for and receiving benefits-related free school meals (FSM), and their families. Friends of these children can also attend if it encourages the FSM child to attend. So, before you book, check to see if you're eligible.
